The Town of Nancy, already rich of a XVIIIth century heritage, one and a half century later was the witness of a new dynamism in the field of decorative arts and became together with Paris, one of the most important places of Art Nouveau in France.


Day 1: Around 8:00am departure with the TGV from Paris Gare de l'Est station to Nancy. After 1h30 minutes of comfortable journey aboard the high-speed train, arrival in Nancy and welcome by our local guide. Guided city tour through the Old City with its city gates (Porte de la Craffe and Porte de la Citadelle) its city Palaces (hotel Ferraris and hotel d'Haussonville), the Franciscan Monastery (Couvent the Cordeliers) and the Ducal Palace residence of the Dukes of Lorraine since the 15th Century. Lunch in a restaurant in the old town with Lorraine specialties. Afternoon discovery of the Nancy of the 18th century, listed since 1983 by the UNESCO World Heritage: Place de la Carrière, Place d 'Alliance and the Architectural masterpiece Place Stanislas with its balconies, lanterns and gilded gates. Hotel check-in and evening at leisure in Nancy.


Day 2: Morning panoramic city tour under the motto Nancy city of Art Nouveau. Visit an Art Nouveau villa and the Musee de l'Ecole de Nancy devoted to the Nancy Art Scholl and presenting many pieces of Art Nouveau by Gallé, Daum, Gruber, Vallin and Majorelle. Lunch at the Brasserie Excelsior, with its exceptional well preserved art nouveau décor. Afternoon visit the 400-pieces collection of Daum crystals in the Fine Arts museum and opportunity to discover the Daum showroom on the Place Stanislas. Transfer to the train station at the end of the afternoon and journey back to Paris.
